Shane's fund just provided money for bills, groceries and some clothing money for a single dad. The family has some ongoing medical issues. But because of everyone's support we were able to give this family some breathing room.

Just wanted to update all of you. In addition to the 5 military families, we contributed to 3 additional local families to help provide Christmas for their children.

Shanes Kindness also provided additional funds to help a local child who was injured in a fall.

We have also assisted a family with rent money to get over the hump.

Just know that your contributions have directly impacted just regular people who have need a little support.

Thank You
John and Donna

I have been thinking a lot about suicide, particularly Shane these past couple of days. Even though I went to SHS I never got to know him that well and I want everyone to know that I wish I had - he seems amazing. Every memory I have of him wasn't amanzing, but I have no bad ones either. He was just another kid in the hallway. I wish I had known what he was going through - I was at the same place, almost. It could have been me, and that petrifies me. I am happy to donate to your cause & I believe site like these will help many generations to come.

God Bless.
May Shane RIP.

In addition to the other families I have mentioned we have committed to helping 5 military families by providing meals and gifts. This is through an organization called Operation Homefront. If you choose to do so, please bring a small gift card to Acme or Walmart. We will distribute these to the organization next week.

Has anyone been planning a vigil for this year's anniversary? I know the people in Shane's grade organized one last year, but since they're all away at college now I guess it's up to this year's senior class to organize this year's vigil. If you would be willing to donate some candles, I'd be happy to supervise lighting and handing them out at the high school flagpole the night of the 12th. Having followed Shane's example in becoming an Eagle Scout this past year, I would love to be able to do this for him.

We are thrilled to sponsor a bowling team called the Fox Chase Champions. It is an organization that provides various sports to kids with special needs at minimal cost(bowling only) or no cost at all(baseball, soccer and basketball). One of our own little guys in Oreland is part of the team. We will be supplying tee shirts for 36 of the participants. Again, you are making a difference

Forgiving the Wounds that Heal

So many words for the broken heart
None so many can feel
There’s only one place to start
Forgiving the wounds that heal

Love is the garden that’s endless
An image God has created
No creature will go friendless
Memories repressed, have faded

A friend will always help you
Guide you day by day
All hardships see you through
With God’s grace we pray

I recently found out that Shane's Kindness has helped my friend that Mrs. Halligan mentioned. I wanted to take the time, like Meg did, to appreciate all of the overwhelming things that come out of this website.

I think about Shane all the time, and I am sure he is so proud of all the good that is coming from this website.

Thank you.

Love always,

Shane's Kindness helped my friend, who Mrs. Halligan mentioned, after an accident. The donation meant so much to her family and to all her friends. We're all wishing for the best for our friend and her family. I think about her and shane everyday. I wear my shane bracelet everyday to remind me of him and of the goodness that has come from this tragedy.

Words connot express my gratitude for the kindness your family has shown to my family.I had reached out in my time of need to raise money to pay for my son's tuition. Our business had went bankrupt due to the high prices of fuel and fees which, left us in debt over our heads. Our son Carey graduated from 8th grade in June08'with good grades and an award for academic excellence in Science(94 average). Carey was accepted to Cardinal Doughtery High School and was told he has a good chance of being a freshman on varsity soccer team. We could not afford the tuition right now. I had been selling household items, clothes, shoes etc..to afford this opportunity for my son because he is a good kid. I was never expecting an angel to appear and help our family the way that the Halligan family did in honor of their son Shane. Carey will being attending Cardinal Dougherty thanks to your "Act of Kindness". We hope you find some comfort in knowing what the kindness of your son has done for ours!!!

Its just over a week until graduation. I wish with all my heart that shane could be with us, physically, at graduation because i know he will be beside all of us as we receive our diplomas. This school year has gone so fast and I miss shane everyday.

Our school experience at springfield had gone so fast and is now coming to an end. I always imagined my graduation...and now its finally here. I'm so glad i knew shane for the time i knew him. I will carry everything he taught me through the rest of my life.

Everytime i step on a stage to perform i will think of Shane and i know that he will be with me in my heart.

I know this will be a very hard time for you guys. Just know that we still think about you everyday. All of our thoughts and prayers are for you.

Donna, my daughter & I want to say thank you so much for being our angel. Today you left a donation for her teachers son who has brain cancer. It was a hard week Lora went in everyday to collect what was in the can at the office & it was empty. Last night I prayed before I went to sleep for something anything to be in that can for my daughter to take home to put in our envelope at home & there it was, again thank you so much. Tonights prayers will be that God always takes good care of you. The money will be passed along to the family in a few weeks at the end of the school year as a surprise.

Due to a database update? All of our recent messages have been lost. I just want to fill you in on some of what we have been able to do.

-Money for a local family to purchase an oven.
-Therapy for a child in our area.
-Provided a family with some funds to be with their daughter at Children's Hopsital. She is 14 with a brain tumor.
-Assisted a single mom with money to purchase books for her daughter beginning college.
-Sadly, we have contributed to a family for funeral expenses for their child.

Just remember, these "acts of kindness" are yours....
God Bless

About a week or so ago I posted a listing on craigslist for some used football equipment for some local kids who wanted to play football but couldn't afford the equipment,Donna and John emailed me stating that that they were willing to help, since then they have provided the children with everything they needed to be able to play.Shane was truely an angel and sometimes our angels leave us early and we don't understand why, although Shane is gone physically he is still here with us spiritually. His family should be very proud of this courageous young man as I know that he is very proud of them.
Again thank you to the Halligan family for your kindness and generous deed in memory of your beautiful son.

I guess we were not really aware of how much sucide is an issue in this country until last May. My husband's best friend since the 1st commited suicide. Jim was the VERY last person we would ever have thought to take his own life. He touched so many lives...over 500 came to pay their last respects that day. Being a mother of 3, I cant begin to imagine your pain and loss. My heart truly goes out to you and yours. We will be donating in Jim's name. Thank you for supporting this site to help all that are lost, be it themselves or by losing someone they love. Thank you again and God bless!

Our Christmas drive has been overwhelming. We have been able to do so much. Right in our own community we have been able to help with financial needs. We purchased a computer for a family. We helped parents shop for their own children. We sent money to a center that is dedicated to helping troubled kids. One of their programs is called "Prevention not Detention" If you get the chance check it out. The website is http://sunshinepreventionctr.org/

Please remember we are here for kids. If you know of anyone struggling, please let us know. We can keep any request confidential.
With love and gratitude,
Donna, John, Kara, Chris and Shane
